There was once a little butterfly

that thought she knew best. 

So out into the world, she flew

To experience a few harsh tests.

For a short time, she forgot the

lessons that were taught by her mother owl.

Every time she was given an inch

she wanted to take a mile.

You see butterfly forgot the time

when she was in cocoon. 

How mother owl watched

over her, protected

Her, and sometimes, brightened

her day when she was in gloom.

 

How mother owl tried to warn her

about the dangers of the world.

that some boys and men don't

Always cherish little girls. 

How when growing into

Womanhood all some boys

want is your goodie good.

These are the things little

butterfly never clearly understood.

So what more is there to say,

she was left to learn her lessons the hard way.

 

After many heart aches and lessons learned;

back to Mother owl she returned. 

This she found was an

opportunity to regain her mother’s trust

taking care of her mother, as she aged,

had become a must.

 

But, one day butterfly now owl herself,

flew to a home too far away.

 Mother owl asked her to return

home almost every day. 

But, ultimately butterfly knew that this

was where mother owl always wanted her to be;

Stable, able, and free,

Mother owl soon found a new home

way above the Stars

much too far to see.

Mother owl is finally flying free.
